After School Sport and Wellness Program
Grades K- 5th
2012-2013 SERVICE AREA- Picking up from the following Leander ISD schools: Block House Creek, Mason, Deer Creek, Giddens, Knowles, Pleasant Hill, Westside, Winkley, Whitestone and Naumann.
A child's life is one of wonder, exploration and ACTIVITY! Children need to be active on a daily basis and are happiest when playing, expecially with other children. Dr. John's Sports Center is a neighborhood center that offers unique programs specifically designed to meet children's need to move and help them develop physical activity and nutrition behaviors that will keep them healthy everyday for a lifetime.
Our Program Features:
¨ Daily Physical Activity (at least one hour)
¨ Supervised homework time (30 minutes)
¨ Healthy snacks prepared in our kitchen
¨ Age-appropriate sport instruction
¨ Organized cooperative recreational games

Through our structured CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) our children rotate through a series of classes lead by our qualified instructors. These classes are designed to give children the opportunity to experience motor and skill development in sport and physical activity as well as obtain information on healthy lifestyles. Dr. John's Sports Center was the national receipient of the 2008 CATCH After School Care Program for its outstanding service to children of Cedar Park and Leander.
Days Offered:
Monday - Friday from the first day of the Leander ISD school year to the last day of school. *August 27, 2012- June 7, 2013*
Full Day Camps- we also offer as an option, full day camps on those days the children are out of school for holiday breaks, spring break, teacher work days and of course, summer break at $40 per day
Times:
After School - 6:00pm (we will pick up early in the event of an Early Release day)
The commute from Austin can be rather trying at times so please call us if you can not make the 6pm deadline. Please keep in mind our recreation leagues and classes all begin at 6pm, at this time our free play or open gym is no longer available to our After School Care children.
Cost:
Full Care- $77 per week ($16 per day)
Partial Care- $65 per week
Three days per week, consistent days required to ensure that we have adequate transportation and staff coverage
Occasional Care- $23 per day
If you need fewer than 3 days a week, please call for availability from your school. All tuition is pre-paid and no credit is given for missed days. Sorry, drop-in care is not available; all participants must be pre-registered and pre-paid. No exceptions.
Deposit- $50
A one time deposit is required to hold your child's place in our program and is applied to the last week of tuition. We will not refund this deposit and therefore ask that parents provide our Center with enough advanced notice to be able to apply their deposit.

Full Day Camps
Student Holiday, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break & Spring Break Camps
Our Sport Camps focus on learning the skills necessary to be successful during play, understanding how to work within a group, cooperating with others to reach goals and having fun in the process.
Full Day Camps for all Student Breaks are based on the LISD calendar. Children do not need to be part of our After School Care program to be involved in our camps.
Fees are all-inclusive, with extended hours, snacks, nutritious lunch for Full Day Campers. The cost is $40 per day and YOU REGISTER ONLY FOR THE DAYS YOU NEED.

Times
7:00am- 6:00pm- Our program starts daily at 9:00am and concludes at 4:00pm. Please help your child be a part of the morning’s celebration by arriving by 9am. During extended hours (7am- 9am & 4pm- 6pm) children are involved in free play.
Cost
Full Day- $40 per day (Nutritious snacks & lunches included)
Half Day- $20 per day (Nutritious snack, lunch may be purchased for $5 per day)

Registration Information
We are licensed as a Child Care Center as well as carry a permit as a food establishment. In order to register your child for our full day program, please complete a Child Care Admission Information form, Emergency Medical Release and Admission agreement. Our operational and discipline policies are part of our After School Care and Full Day Care 2010-11 Packet of Information and can be downloaded here. If your child has already attended one of our many camps, please verify the information we have on file is correct. A new Admission Agreement will be required.
We offer our camp holidays under a flexible plan to allow you to take time from work and spend time with your children without being financially penalized. You register only for the days you will need during the School Holiday Camps. All camps are pre-paid and are due in our office no later than one week to the start of camp. There is no credit for missed days. Non-payment will release your space to another child. Credit card payment can be accepted over the phone.
Cancellation Policy
We at Dr. John's Sports Center are parents ourselves with full working schedules and with our own families. We understand that schedules change and emergencies arise and we try to approach all our families with understanding and compassion. With that said, our day camps sell out especially during The LISD's February Teacher's conference and Summer Camp. Please provide us with two weeks notice of your schedule changes.
