AFTER SCHOOL CARE

2009-2010 SERVICE AREA:  BLOCKHOUSE CREEK, CC MASON, DEER CREEK, GIDDENS, KNOWLES, PLEASANT HILL, WESTSIDE, WINKLEY, WHITESTONE and FAUBION.

A child's life is one of wonder, exploration and ACTIVITY!  Children need to be active on a daily basis and are happiest when playing, expecially with other children.  Dr. John's Sports Center is a neighborhood center that offers unique programs specifically designed to meet children's need to move and help them develop physical activity and nutrition behaviors that will keep them healthy everyday for a lifetime.

We offer care for children from Kindergarten to 5th grade with pick up services for After School Care at many LISD Elementary Schools.  Programs are designed to provide children with at least one hour of physical activity per day with an emphasis on movement and cooperative play.  Dedicated homework of 30 minutes is provided as well as regular emphasis on healthy lifestyles and nutrition.

Cost per week: $77 ($16.00 per day) per week.  $65 per week for parital week care - three days per week.  Full time and a limited number of  partial week slots are available. Partial week care requires the child come to the center on consistent days every week.  Drop-in Care is for students who are familiar with our program and is offered on a limited basis.  Prior arrangements must be made to ensure we have adequate staff and transportation coverage.  Cost is $23 per day.  All tuition is pre-paid and no credit is given for missed days.  A $50 deposit is required to hold your child's place in our program.  This deposit is applied to the last week of tuition.  We will not refund this deposit and therefore ask that parents provide our Center with enough advanced notice to be able to apply their deposit. 

Times:  After School - 6:00 p.m.   The commute from Austin can be rather trying at times so please call us if you can not make the 6:00 deadline.  Please keep in mind our recreation leagues and classes all begin at 6:00.  Our free play or open gym is no longer available to our After School Care children and therefore the children are housed in the kitchen area until their parents arrive. 

Days Offered: Monday - Friday from the first day of the Leander ISD school year to the last day of school. *August 24, 2009- June 4, 2010* 
We also offer as an option, full day camps on those days the children are out of school for holiday breaks,
spring break, teacher work days and of course, summer break.  Our full day camps are $40 per day.

Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break & Spring Sports Camp 2009-10

Thanksgiving Break, Christmas-Winter Break & Spring Break Camps at Dr. John's Sports Center offer a unique program specifically designed to meet children's need to move with an emphasis on working with children to develop physical activity and healthy nutritional behaviors.  Our Sport Camps focus on learning the skills necessary to be successful during play, understanding how to work within a group, cooperating with others to reach goals and having fun in the process.

We offer Full Day Camps for all Student Breaks as based on the LISD calendar.  All fees are all-inclusive, with extended hours, snacks, nutritious lunch for Full Day Campers.  The cost is $40 per day and YOU REGISTER ONLY FOR THE DAYS YOU NEED.  Children do not need to be part of our After School Care program to be involved in our Full Day Holiday Camps.

• Times:  Daily 9:00am - 4:00pm.
• Extended hours from 7:00am - 9:00am and 4:00pm - 6:00 pm at no addtional charge.
• $40 per day - reservations are required.  Register only for the days you need.

2009-10 Closings - no child care offered

September 7, 2009 - Labor Day
November 26 & 27, 2009 - Thanksgiving and day after Thanksgiving
December 24 & 25, 2009 - Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
January 1, 2010 - New Years Day
May 31, 2010 - Memorial Day

Registration Information

We are licensed as a Child Care Center as well as carry a permit as a food establishment.  In order to register your child for our full day program, please complete a Child Care Admission Information form, Emergency Medical Release and Admission agreement.  Our operational and discipline policies are part of our After School Care and Full Day Care 2009-10 Packet of Information and can be downloaded here.  If your child has already attended one of our many camps, please verify the information we have on file is correct.  A new Admission Agreement will be required. 

We offer our camp holidays under a flexible plan to allow you to take time from work and spend time with your children with being financially penalized. You register only for the days you will need during the School Holiday Camps.  All camps are pre-paid and are due in our office no later than one week to the start of camp.  There is no credit for  missed days.    Non-payment will release your space to another child.  Credit card payment can be accepted over the phone.

Cancellation Policy

We at Dr. John's Sports Center are parents ourselves with full working schedules and with our own families.  We understand that schedules change and emergencies arise and we try to approach all our families with understanding and compassion.  With that said, our day camps sell out especially during The LISD's February Teacher's conference.  Please provide us with two weeks notice of your schedule changes.
