Who We Are - Our History
Started at Concordia

We started as a Summer Camp!

Dr. Johns began at Concordia University, Austin, Texas in 1991.  We established programs that set the standard for creative games and play that help keep children healthy, happy and productive.  The camp ran for seven years and was one of the most popular summer camps in Austin.

Dr. John’s motto “Where We all Play” emphasizes the value and benefit of actively participating in sport and games. Making the decision to participate, trying to do your best and improving over time are the behaviors that lead to achievement and develop a healthy competitive spirit.  These behaviors are not learned by forcing children to win or lose but through experiences that reward them for continuing to participate.

Children’s growing bodies need regular, vigorous physical exertion. Exercise habits that are established in childhood will lead to being a healthy adult.

Children who are physically active on a daily basis are happier, healthier, do better at school and have more self-confidence than inactive children. Children’s ability to work in groups and teams, take leadership roles and practice discipline and creativity are largely attributed to experiences in out-of-school activities that emphasize movement and physical play.
