Food at Dr. John's - 2012 Food Policy

Our kitchen is familiar with picky eaters. We work with the child to broaden their culinary tastes to eat foods that are not served in a wrapper, box or on a stick. The only way children learn to eat healthy is by providing them with healthy food choices. Otherwise they will never experience and learn to eat foods that are good for overall wellbeing.
We are very creative in providing cooking classes, make your own snack interactive sessions, and taste tests. All are meant to provide children with hands on experience in food preparation, information about nutrition and exposure to trying something they have not tried before.
Menus are provided above and also posted at our Center. With 80 children + staff members to feed within a very short period of time, it is difficult on the kitchen staff to cater to individual children’s likes/dislikes. We do ask that all children come through the serving line as they may see something they would like to try. Milk, soy milk and water is offered at lunch, so please do not pack sodas or juice. No candy is allowed.
If you think your child will not eat what we are offering, please pack a lunch. Snacks are provided by Dr. John’s and we ask that you only pack lunch items.
We make special provisions for children with know food allergies, those on physician ordered diets (i.e. diabetic, wheat, peanut allergies) and vegetarians. If your child's nutritional needs can not be handled by our kitchen, we will let you know up front. You may be asked to supplement our menu with a partial lunch.
