Volleyball at Dr. John's

The volleyball programs at Dr. John’s Sports Center are designed to teach players the fundamentals of the game in an encouraging and fun environment. Coaches instruct players on proper skills in an age appropriate manner while also teaching the attitudes of cooperation and sportsmanship. We take pride in being the most positive, family friendly organization in the area. Our goal is to make sure that each and every player has a memorable experience at Dr. John’s.

Volleyball- Winter 2011

Winter Volleyball Clinic

Who: Grades 4^th- 7^th

Format: This month long clinic led by our professional coaches will focus on skill development. Each week's instruction will focus on a different skill (including passing, setting, serving and game strategies). Parents are asked to help their child determine their skill level. Please bring knee pads.

When: January 6- January 27

Beginner Players: Friday (6pm- 7:30pm)

Advanced Players: Friday (7:30pm- 9pm)

Fee: $90 per player

Winter Volleyball League

Who: Grades 4^th/5^th & 6^th/7^th

Format: This league will be held in practice/play format on Friday nights, it is a great follow up to our winter clinic. Dr. John's professional coaches will focus on skill development, rules and game strategies. T-shirts will be provided, please bring knee pads. We will do our very best to honor buddy requests, however this will be done on a first come, first serve basis.

When: February 3- March 9

Volleyball- Spring 2012

Spring Beginners Clinic

Who: Grades 2^nd & 3^rd

Format: This three week instructional clinic is a great way for players to develop a strong skill set. Professional coaches will instruct players in proper serving, setting, and passing skills. This is also a great introduction to our End of School volleyball leagues.

When: April 20, 27 & May 4

Time: Fridays (6pm- 7:30pm)

Fees:

Early Bird Registration (before 3/30/12): 70 per player

Regular Registration (by 4/13/12): $80 per player

Late Registration (after 4/13/12): $90 per player

Spring End of School Volleyball Leagues

Who: Grades 2^nd/3^rd & 4^th/5^th (current grade in spring 2012)

Format: This practice, then play seven week league is offered to children in current grades 2^nd- 5^th (entering into grades 3^rd- 6^th in fall 2012). Players will receive 30 minutes of instructional practice time and 1 hour of game time each week. Dr. John’s professional coaches will help players develop and maintain skills necessary for successful game play.

Practice Night/ Buddy Requests: Players may choose their desired practice night and may also make buddy requests to be on a team with a friend. These preferences are honored on a first come, first serve basis and to the very best of our ability, no guarantees can be made.

When: May 8- June 20

2^nd/ 3^rd Practice/Play: Wednesdays (6pm- 7:30pm)

4^th/5^th Practice/Play: Tuesdays OR Thursdays (6pm- 7:30pm)

Fees: Team t-shirts included, please provide knee pads.

Early Bird Registration (before 4/17/12): $130 per player

Regular Registration (by 5/1/12): $140 per player

Late Registration (after 5/1/12): $150 per player

Spring Texas Eclipse End of School Volleyball Leagues- Registration will begin Feb 15th, more information coming soon...

Who: Grades 6^th-8^th (current grade in spring 2012)

Format: This league will be hosted by Texas Eclipse at Dr. John's Sports Center. All registrations and payment will be done through Texas Eclipse.

When: May 7- June 18

Practice/Play: Mondays (between 6pm- 9pm)
