Youth Sports Director Ty Gibson

Ty has been a part of the Dr. John's team since 2007. He started off as an after school coach and has since become the center's Youth Sports Director. He is currently finishing up his degree in Therapeutic Recreation. He organizes our sports clinics and recreation leagues, and he even coaches soccer, baseball, and basketball. He enjoys spending time with the kids as well as with the families. He is extremely excited about the growth and direction of the sports programs here at Dr. John's!

Coach Paco Escamilla: Baseball, Volleyball, Basketball

 

Coach Paco is a native Texan. He grew up in Round Rock where he began playing the game of baseball. Through hard work and determination, he played four years of high school baseball for Round Rock High. Because of his success in High School, Paco was taken in the Major League Baseball draft. He played in the Cincinnati Reds organization only to have his stellar career shortened by a shoulder injury. Coach Paco has played an integral part of the Dr. John's baseball program. He has brought excitement, a thorough knowledge of the game, and tons of fun to practice and games. Coach Paco has also been a fantastic addition to our Volleyball program and is currently coaching in our Friday Night Hoops clinic.

 

Coach Ebony Ornelas: Volleyball

 

 Coach Ebony brings her unique teaching skills to Dr. John’s via her experiences working with special needs children over the past 6 years in the Garden Grove school district in California and currently at Leander High School.  Ebony was on the volleyball and track teams at Golden West Community College in Huntington Beach, California and has been helping develop the volleyball development program at Dr. John’s since 2007. 

 

 

Coach Cindy Cooper: Volleyball

 

Coach Cindy is an experienced teacher, educator, Southwest Texas (now Texas State) graduate and coach. She has been playing volleyball for 20 years, has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a master’s in Education.  With an all-level physical education and secondary mathematics certification, Cindy has taught and coached at the high school level for 3 years and assisted at the elementary level 1 year.  She has been married for 7 years and currently, she is a stay-at-home mom with her daughter and son.  Cindy enjoys sharing her passion for volleyball and for teaching with all of her players.

 

 

Coach Cami Hartness: Volleyball

 

Graduated from and began playing volleyball at Georgetown High School. She currently plays intramural volleyball at University of Texas and will be graduating in December with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology. She has previously worked as an athletic development trainer and her goal is to work with children to help them develop healthy lifestyles.  This is Coach Cami’s fifth season as a coach with Dr. John’s Sports Center and she looks forward to helping her girls become better players.
