Coaching Information
Dr. John's Sports Center utilizes both volunteer coaches and paid coaching staff depending upon the program. The designation is determined prior to the start of the league. Volunteer coaches undergo the same interview process as our paid coaching staff as well as background checks.
If you would like to apply for a paid coaching position or a volunteer coaching position at Dr. John's Sports Center, please click on the link to complete a Coaching Interest Form. After completing the registration, an application must be filled out (the application can be downloaded below). After your application has been received, you will be contacted by Ty Gibson, Director of Youth Sports to discuss coaching opportunities and to schedule an interview if appropriate.
All new coaches (paid or volunteer) will receive a coaching contract and handbook and must attend a mandatory orientation. All coaches (new and returning) will attend a meeting prior to each season’s participation. It is very important that every coach understand the philosophy at Dr. John’s Sports Center. Our coaches are responsible for teaching not only the fundamental skills, but also the importance of effort, teamwork and sportsmanship. Coaching expectations are outlined during the initial interview and are reiterated during coaches meetings.
